It is confirmed that Funke Akindele and Juliana Olayode, who plays Toyo Baby on Jenifa’s Diary, have parted ways. According to TNS sources, Funke Akindele removed Toyo Baby from the series over what the latter termed ‘bad pay’. The source revealed that Toyo Baby was cut off from the popular TV series for requesting an increment in pay which didn’t go well with Funke Akindele who feels she’s an ingrate being that Olayode rose to stardom through her appearances on the show. Former Goodluck Jonathan's aide, Reno Omokri has replied the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission who cautioned him not to disrespect the office of the President following his controversial tweet which read: "President Buhari is a "Ghost President fighting ghost workers with an EFCC that goes after his Ghost monies in apartments owned by ghosts." The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday withdrew a motion before a Federal High Court Lagos for stay of execution of a judgment which unfreeze the account of a former first lady, Patience Jonathan. Justice Mojisola Olatoregun had on April 6 unfreeze the account after Jonathan’s lawyer, Mr Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN), challenged the propriety of EFCC’s action. He had challenged the commission for joining her in a suit, which he said, she was not a party to, and urged the court to unfreeze Jonathan’s account. Dissatisfied with the unfreezing order, EFCC had filed an application for a stay of execution of the order as well as a notice of appeal challenging the judgment. The two applications, according to EFCC counsel, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, were dated April 6 and filed on April 7. At the resumed hearing of the case on Tuesday, Oyedepo informed the court of his agency’s intention to withdraw the two applications. He did not give reasons for the withdrawal. Following t

A federal High Court sitting on Tuesday in Niger State has ordered that the immediate past governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, to be remanded in prison custody until May 4. According to Premium Times, Justice Mohammed Mayaki, also ordered that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 election, Umar Nasko, be also remanded in prison. The two politicians were on Tuesday docked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on a six-count charge bordering on fraud. The Police in Osun on Tuesday arrested four members of a suspected five-man kidnapping gang after engaging them in a gunfire in Erin-Osun in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state. Presenting one of the suspects to newsmen in Osogbo, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro, said the suspects were arrested while on their way for a kidnapping operation on Tuesday. Odoro said the police had been on the trail of the gang for a while before luck ran out of the hoodlums, as four out of the five members of the group were arrested by the police, while one of them escaped with gunshot wounds. She said the kidnappers had been terrorising the people of the state. It has been confirmed that 31-year Police Constable Peace Agbemafo committed suicide because a lover jilted her. According to MyNewsGH, Garu-Tempane District Police Commander ASP Alexander Tieku who confirmed the report said that it was the second time she was experiencing a heart break. “This is about the second time she has been jilted by someone. Somebody promised to marry her but later disappointed her and she killed herself.
